The Washington Redskins continue to wallow in sports odds mediocrity despite all of owner Daniel Snyder’s money. His latest addition is defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth who comes over from Tennessee. What was not addressed in the off-season was the quarterback position so the Redskins are stuck with Jason Campbell yet again. Washington is a 40-1 longshot in NFL odds to win Super Bowl XLIV at online sportsbooks. Head coach Jim Zorn promised a lot when he took over with the Redskins but not much has been delivered. The offense is still predictable with Clinton Portis running the ball and Campbell missing receivers. To win the NFC East in NFL betting the Redskins are going to need a lot of help and it doesn’t look like the addition of Haynesworth is enough. The Washington offense is led by Campbell who has yet to prove he deserves the job. He is in a contract year so perhaps he will be improved in 2009 NFL odds. Many of the coaches and players like backup Colt Brennan’s talent but he has yet to show he is a backup quarterback, yet alone a starter. NFL odds at BetUS sportsbook currently have the Washington Redskins +4000 to win in 2010 Super Bowl odds. The Redskins still have Clinton Portis and that is good news in NFL odds since he is a true workhorse. He had 342 carries for 1,487 yards last season. His backup is Ladell Betts The receiving corps for Washington is simply not very good. Tight end Chris Cooley is actually the Redskins best receiver. He had 83 catches for 849 yards last season. Santana Moss had a nice season a year ago and Antwaan Randle El is an okay receiver but neither scares other teams very much. The Washington offensive line is old although some of the players are still good including left tackle Chris Samuels. The defensive line will be led by Haynesworth who should make a difference upfront in NFL betting lines. It is doubtful he is worth $100 million but Snyder overpays for everyone. Taking Brian Orakpo was a risky pick in the draft so he had better produce considering Washington had other needs. Andre Carter and Cornelius Griffin also return. The defense is led by linebacker London Fletcher who had a great 2008. The secondary has cornerback DeAngelo Hall to go along with Carlos Rogers, Kevin Barnes, Fred Smoot and LaRon Landry. 2010 Super Bowl odds to win the NFC conference at BetUS sportsbook have the Washington Redskins +1800. The kicking game is weak with kicker Shaun Suisham. Perhaps the punting will at least be better as the team signed Hunter Smith. Washington is a tough team to figure in NFL odds. They have talent in a lot of spots but they don’t at the most important position, quarterback. The Redskins are 6-1 longshots in NFL betting odds at BetUS sportsbook to win the NFC East this season.
