![]() What happens when you have the best offense in NFL odds but finish 8-8 on the season? The answer is that the pressure goes up to have a winning season in sports betting and make the playoffs. That is the case in 2010 Super Bowl odds with the New Orleans Saints and head coach Sean Payton. The Saints are 22-1 in NFL odds at sportsbooks to win Super Bowl XLIV. The Saints are led by Pro Bowl quarterback Drew Brees. He nearly broke Dan Marino’s record for passing yards in a season a year ago. That is how good he was in NFL odds. One of the reasons the Saints are so good throwing the ball is that they can’t run it. Deuce McAllister is now gone so the Saints will rely upon Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas. The receiving corps for the Saints has a lot of talent led by Marques Colston and Lance Moore. Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem also are in the mix. The Saints are hoping that tight end Jeremy Shockey has a more productive season than a year ago when he made a lot of mistakes. The Saints offensive line is solid led by Pro Bowl left tackle Jammal Brown. Right tackle Jon Stinchcomb is a good one and guards Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks do a fine job while Jon Goodwin is the center. Last season the Saints had the top ranked offense but the 23rd-ranked defense and that defense hurt them in NFL odds. The Saints brought in Gregg Williams as defensive coordinator to address that problem. The Saints have the overpaid Will Smith and Charles Grant at ends but at least they have Sedrick Ellis in the middle. The linebackers are led by Jonathan Vilma and Scott Fujita. Dan Morgan could also make an impact this season. NFL betting information has the New Orleans secondary being totally revamped. The team is looking at rookie cornerback Malcolm Jenkins, free agent cornerback Jabari Greer, free agent safety Darren Sharper and rookie safety Chip Vaughn. Gay and Greer are back as the corners. Garrett Hartley is back to do the kicking while the punting job is up for grabs with Glenn Pakulak and Thomas Morstead. This is a huge season in NFL odds for Sean Payton and the Saints. Anything less than a playoff berth in Super Bowl odds this season may cost Payton his job. |
