2009 Georgia Bulldogs College Football Betting - Georgia 50-1 2010 BCS Odds

2010 Georgia Bulldogs BCS Odds

How good are the 2009 Georgia Bulldogs going to be without Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno? No one seems to know the answer to that question. What is clear though, is that last year’s team was a disappointment. The 2008 team with Stafford and Moreno was the preseason #1 but they ended up a disappointing 10-3 straight up and an even worse 4-7-1 against the college football odds. Georgia could be an interesting team to watch in BCS odds this season without all of the hype that surrounded them last year.

They have a senior quarterback in Joe Cox, a great coach in Mark Richt and a reasonable schedule. The Bulldogs are 75-1 to win the national title in college football odds. The offense for Georgia will be led by Cox. He is not as flashy as Stafford but he is good at managing the game. Two other players are competing with Cox for the job and they are Aaron Murray and Zach Mettenberger. The group of running backs at Georgia doesn’t seem to have a star this year. Caleb King, Richard Samuel, Carlton Thomas, Dontavius Jackson and freshman Washaun Ealey should compete for time.

The Bulldogs have a great wide receiver in A.J. Green and he can impact college football odds at a moment’s notice. The key will be getting him the ball. The remaining receiving corps has Michael Moore and freshman Marlon Brown. Redshirt freshman Tavarres King also is back from injury. The offensive line looks very good for Georgia in 2009. Left tackle Trinton Sturdivant is back after missing last year with an ACL injury. Center Ben Jones and Clint Boling are also very good. The defense could be decent for the Bulldogs. They get tackle Jeff Owens back from an injury that caused him to miss almost all of last season. Tackle Geno Atkins also returns. Justin Houston could be very good at one of the ends. Rennie Curran is one of the best in the SEC Conference at linebacker and he is joined by Darryl Gamble, Akeem Dent and Marcus Dowtin. Marcus Washington is back after missing all of last season.

Safety Reshad Jones is back in the secondary but they will miss cornerback Asher Allen who went to the NFL. Perhaps Prince Miller and Brandon Boykin can make an impact. The kicking game at Georgia is a mess. Blair Walsh folded under the pressure last year so Richt has opened up the job. Drew Butler is the choice at punter and he is not very good either. The Bulldogs are picked for second in the SEC East but a very distant second behind Florida. With expectations lower than normal, perhaps Georgia can surprise some people in college football odds this year.
