![]() What do you do if you have lost three BCS games in sports odds including two national title games? If you are the Ohio State Buckeyes you just try again. The 2009 Ohio State Buckeyes have enough talent to reach the title game once again and are 8-1 favorites in college football odds to win it all. It all starts with quarterback Terrelle Pryor who is +800 in Heisman trophy odds and is only going to get better. He has improved his passing in the off-season and is going to be one of the best players in the country in 2009. The Buckeyes did lose Beanie Wells but they have Dan Herron and Brandon Saine coming back to run the ball. The receiving corps might actually be better even though they lost Brian Robiskie. Dane Sanzenbacher is the possession receiver and DeVier Posey, Ray Small, and Lamaar Thomas will battle for the other starting spots. The offensive line gets Justin Boren who used to be at Michigan to help out and he has already impressed Pryor. The line also has center Michael Brewster who should have a great year. The defense lost James Laurinaitis and Marcus Freeman but they might be better anyway versus the college football odds in 2009. The defensive line is led by Thaddeus Gibson and Cameron Heyward. Other players who will see time upfront include Nathan Williams, Solomon Thomas and Lawrence Wilson. Doug Worthington is one of the starting tackles while Dexter Larimore and Todd Denlinger should rotate at the other spot. The linebackers feature Austin Spitler on the inside and Ross Homan on the weak side. Tyler Moeller might get another of the spots. The secondary has Kurt Coleman and Anderson Russell leading the way. Coleman might be the best safety in the Big 10 conference. Chimdi Chekwa is one of the corners while senior Andre Amos may get the other spot. Devon Torrence and Jermale Hines should get playing time as well. The Buckeyes lost their punter and kicker but former starter Aaron Pettrey is back and fifth-year senior, Jon Thoma is the punter. There are really only two roadblocks for Ohio State on the 2009 college football odds schedule. They face USC early and that is the time to play the Trojans. This is not the best USC Trojans team ever and Ohio State can win that game. The other key game in college football odds will be against Penn State. Ohio State will be a serious national title contender again in and total regular season wins have the Buckeyes 9.5 UNDER -125 in college football odds. |
