Tim Tebow of the defending champion Florida Gators is the 2-1 favorite at Betus.com while Texas quarterback Colt McCoy and Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford are +275.

*Updated 2009 Heisman Trophy Odds*

Heisman Trophy odds favor three returning quarterbacks in 2009.

Tim Tebow of the defending champion Florida Gators is the 2-1 favorite at BetUS sportsbook to win the Heisman trophy while Texas quarterback Colt McCoy is +275 and Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford is +250 at sportsbooks.

Bradford was the winner in Heisman Trophy odds last year while Tebow won it two years ago. Tebow threw for 2,746 yards last year and rushed for 673 yards. He scored 42 touchdowns between passing and rushing.

Florida is loaded in 2009 and Tebow could have a monster year in the SEC Conference.

McCoy had 3,859 yards and 34 passing touchdowns last year while adding 561 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. McCoy could easily have won the award last season and if Texas goes unbeaten he has shot to win this year.

Heisman Trophy odds at BetUS sportsbook currently have Tim Tebow +200 and Sam Bradford +250.

Bradford threw for 4,720 yards and 50 touchdowns last season. He added five rushing touchdowns just for good measure. The problem for Bradford is that rarely does a player win in Heisman Trophy odds two straight years.

There is only one other player with Heisman Trophy odds of less than 10-1 at BetUS sportsbook and that is Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor who is listed at +800. Pryor had 1,311 yards throwing the ball with 12 TD passes while he ran for 631 yards and 6 touchdowns.

It seems unlikely Pryor will have the stats necessary to win the award since Ohio State does not have the offensive weapons that the Florida Gators, Texas or Oklahoma have.

Other contenders for the award in sports odds this season include Jahvid Best at 10-1, Evan Royster at 12-1, Jonathan Dwyer at 15-1, Jevan Snead at 15-1 and Daryll Clark at 20-1. Best had 1,580 yards and 15 touchdowns for California last season.

Playing in the Pac-10 probably doesn’t help his cause though in Heisman Trophy odds unless the Bears upset USC. Royster had 1,236 yards and 12 TD’s last season for Penn State but his odds of 12-1 probably should be 50-1 unless the Nittany Lions have a perfect season.

Dwyer had 1,395 yards and 12 touchdowns last season but unless Georgia Tech does something extremely special it is unlikely Dwyer will get enough attention to win. Snead threw for 2,762 yards and 26 touchdowns for Mississippi last year but unless the Rebels surprise and win the SEC, he is a real long-shot.

Clark had 2,592 yards passing with 19 TD throws and 282 yards rushing and 10 TD runs for Penn State last season but he doesn’t have nearly the receiving talent he had a year ago and unless the Nittany Lions go unbeaten he really has no shot in Heisman Trophy odds.
