After a thrilling Confederations Cup, soccer matches continue on Friday with Group A play in CONCACAF Gold Cup betting. All four teams will be in action on Friday as Jamaica faces Canada and El Salvador takes on Costa Rica. Jamaica is the dangerous team in this group. They have not lost since last September which means a 13 match unbeaten streak. Jamaica has allowed only five goals in their last eight matches. They can also score which makes them a threat for totals in CONCACAF betting on Group A. Canada played well in their last two matches against Cyrpus and Guatemala as Ali Gerba scored two goals. Neither of those games meant anything though so Canada still has to prove they are a contender. CONCACAF Gold Cup betting odds at SBG Global have Jamaica PK -135 against Canada -105 with a Draw +205 and a betting total of 2.5 UNDER -130 in soccer odds. “A friendly is a friendly and we have no illusions about that. It’s much different when points are on the line,” interim head coach Stephen Hart said. “Training has gone well. I wish I had one more international friendly leading into (the tournament). But that’s not going to happen.” Costa Rica is playing the best of any team in this group and is the favorite to advance. They had good wins over the United States and Trinidad & Tobago and they look to be in good shape to advance to the World Cup. “Costa Rica is arguably the best team right now in CONCACAF, just on their performances lately,” Hart said. El Salvador is the mystery team in this group. They lost to Costa Rica back in April but beat Ecuador in a friendly and they tied Jamaica. They beat Mexico 2-1 but lost to Honduras 1-0. CONCACAF Gold Cup betting odds at SBG Global have Costa Rica -1 (-140) against El Salvador EVEN with a Draw +250 and a betting total of 2.5 OVER -140 in soccer odds.
In Group B CONCACAF Gold Cup betting on Saturday it will be the United States, the defending Gold Cup champ against Grenada and Haiti facing Honduras. In Group C on Sunday it will be Mexico against Nicaragua and Panama against Guadeloupe. The top two teams in each group, plus the two best third place finishers move on to the elimination round in the 12-team event held at locations around the United States. The final will be played at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on July 26th.
