The dream hand in Texas Holdem poker is two aces. What do you do when you get this hand? The dream hand in Texas Holdem poker is two aces. What do you do when you get pocket aces?

Do you go all-in, raise a little, raise a lot or slow play them.  What you really want to do with pocket aces in Texas Holdem is get a lot of money into the pot.

The best idea is to raise a reasonable amount, not all-in unless late in a tournament or short stacked, and narrow the field down to just a couple of players. Many times you will have those opponents crushed.

Pocket aces are the best starting hand, but knowing how to play them is very important to maximize the profit potential and to eliminate any dangers that you may face.

Some players in No-Limit Texas Holdem poker will automatically go all-in with pocket aces but if everyone folds to your all-in you miss out on a great chance to win a big pot. Your aces are the best hand and you want to get the most out of them, but by going all-in you very often miss that chance.

If everyone folds there will be very little money in the pot that you pick up. The other big drawback of going all-in with pocket aces is when you lose and it does happen.

If you do get drawn out on at an online poker room, then all of your money is gone and you are out of the game. What other options do you have besides the all-in move?

When you have aces in early position you definitely want to raise the pot. You are probably only going to get calls from pairs which you already have beat and perhaps hands like AK, AQ, or perhaps KQ or another suited connector.

Those hands you have a big advantage on and want the call. You probably won’t see many of those hands though since you already hold two of the aces in the deck.

The more likely hands you can put your opponent on are smaller pairs or possibly suited connectors. When you have aces you want people to call and to re-raise you. When you are in middle or late position you want even more action.

Another option in online poker is just calling or checking with aces. The problem with slow playing aces is that it leaves too many other hands in the pot that can draw out on you. If someone wants to go against your aces, make them pay a price to do so.

You want callers, but you don’t want every single hand up against you. Pairs are much better for you than the possible straight and flush draws.
