![]() The two biggest stars in hockey meet Wednesday night at 7:05pm EST on CBC in what all NHL betting fans wait for, a Game 7. The Washington Capitals and Alex Ovechkin host the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby with the winner advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals. "I've watched a lot of Game 7s, but this will be my first one," Crosby said, "I've never played one in juniors - or any level." It is too bad this series has to end considering all the excitement it has given hockey fans. "Somebody," Crosby said, "is going home." Hockey bookmakers have the Capitals -130 favorites at home in NHL odds against the Penguins +110 with a NHL betting total of 5.5 OVER -130 for Game 7. Five games in this series have been decided by one goal and three of the games have gone to overtime. "It's lived up to the hype of the 'Super Series,"' Capitals forward Brooks Laich said, "and I think it's great for hockey, in general." Ovechkin has 13 points in the series while Crosby has 10. The stars could again decide Game 7 but it is more likely that either rookie goalie Simeon Varlamov or Pittsburgh’s Marc-Andre Fleury will decide the game. "The star power is there, and they haven't underperformed," Washington coach Bruce Boudreau said. "It's not like you're playing in the Super Bowl, and you've got the best running back in the league going seven carries for 12 yards. There's no disappointment here." The Penguins are hoping to get defenseman Sergei Gonchar back on Wednesday. He has been out since being injured in Game 4.
