For the Spartans to win against North Carolina on Monday they are going to need all the help they can get. The Tar Heels routed Michigan State 98-63 back in December on this same court but there is no question the Spartans are a much different team now. Even so, Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo knows the challenge ahead. "If we play good and they play good, we're losing. That's the way I look at it," Izzo said. "I mean, I don't look at that in the negative. They are the best team in the country and have earned that ranking probably over the last year and a half." NCAA Final odds makers have North Carolina -7.5 point favorites against Michigan State with a total of 152.5. The Spartans may have the home court edge but North Carolina is very talented and is very motivated. "I do realize they have a cause. Well, we also have a cause, too," North Carolina head coach Roy Williams said. "We want to win a national championship, period, the end. And if you would tell me that if Michigan State wins, it's gonna satisfy the nation's economy, then I'd say, 'Hell, let's stay poor for a little while longer." Vegas odds at the Hilton sportsbook have North Carolina -7.5 point favorites in college basketball odds against Michigan State with a betting total of 153.5. The North Carolina Tar Heels (33-4) are solid favorites in NCAA Final odds against the Michigan State Spartans (31-6) on Monday night at 9:20pm EST on CBS but to win the title the Tar Heels are going to have to not only deal with a talented Spartans team but a hostile crowd that is seriously in favor of Michigan State. "When you go through hard times, you pray for something to get you out," Spartans guard Travis Walton said. "I'm sure they didn't pray for Michigan State to get to the Final Four or the national championship game, but they probably have been praying to have things to take their mind off of it."
