Xavier might have the ability to stay with Pittsburgh if they can get some fouls on Blair and Young. March Madness odds makers have Pittsburgh -7 point favorites against Xavier in March Madness betting odds with a total of 138.5. The Musketeers are going totally under the radar in this year’s NCAA Tournament but they have been very impressive, winning easily against Portland State and Wisconsin. Xavier’s big weakness is turnovers but Pittsburgh really doesn’t have the type of team to take advantage of Xavier’s weak guards. Xavier wins with a strong half court defense and balanced scoring and that is one way to beat the Panthers. "The identity of our team is tough-minded defense," head coach Sean Miller said. "When we're away from our identity, we can win some and lose some." Pittsburgh may be the #1 seed in the East but they have not been impressive in their first two games against East Tennessee State and Oklahoma State. Now they are in the Sweet Sixteen round against Xavier on Thursday at 7:30 pm EST where they have been a total bust in recent seasons. Pittsburgh has far more talent than Xavier led by DeJuan Blair and Sam Young. The Panthers also have Levance Fields and he has played very well so far in this tournament. Pittsburgh is not a deep team and if either Blair or Young get into foul trouble they are vulnerable.
