UFC 96 odds have Gabriel Gonzaga favored against Shane Carwin on Saturday, March 7th. Gonzaga is -180 while Carwin is +150. This bout is one of ten on the UFC 96 fight card, five of which will be televised on pay-per-view. Many people are looking forward to the battle between Gonzaga and Carwin even more than the main event fight which pits Quinton Jackson against Keith Jardine. Gonzaga may be the favorite in UFC 96 odds but Carwin is unbeaten in his career at 10-0 while Gonzaga is 10-3. The experience edge definitely goes to Gonzaga as he is a former #1 contender in the Heavyweight division and he fought for the title against Randy Couture. Gonzaga has excellent power, is very tough on the ground and has a big power kick. He took out Mirko Cro Cop with that devastating kick. He can be discouraged though if the fight is taken to him as Couture and Fabricio Werdum have proven. Carwin could be the next star in UFC odds but he is still untested. He has great power and excellent wrestling skills but lacks experience. That is what makes this bout so intriguing. Carwin could come out and dominate Gonzaga or he could fail to get inside and struggle. Carwin has never been out of the first round so that could also be a problem if this fight doesn’t end quickly. Bettors are starting to lean with Carwin in UFC 96 odds since getting him at +150 looks attractive. The Gonzaga-Carwin fight will be televised on pay-per-view as will the main event between Jackson and Jardine in which Jackson is better than a 3-1 favorite in UFC 96 odds.
Also on the televised portion of the card are Matt Hamill versus Mark Munoz, Matt Brown against Pete Sell and Gray Maynard vs. Jim Miller. The UFC betting odds have Hamill a -170 favorite over Munoz while Sell is a -130 favorite against Brown and Maynard a 2-1 favorite against Miller. The five fights on the preliminary card should also be entertaining. Tamdan McCrory takes on Ryan Madigan, Jason Briz fights Tim Boetsch, Shane Nelson is matched up against Aaron Riley, Kendall Grove is a 2-1 favorite in UFC betting odds against Jason Day while Brandon Vera is more than a 5-1 favorite against Mike Patt.
