Carl Edwards Does BackflipJimmie Johnson will be looking to wrap up the 2008 Sprint Cup championship on Sunday afternoon when the series hits Homestead-Miami Speedway in Ford 400 odds.

Ford 400 odds at BetUS sportsbook have Carl Edwards +250 as the NASCAR betting favorite. Ford 400 odds are followed by the Sprint Cup Chase leader Jimmie Johnson +725, Greg Biffle +600, Denny Hamlin +850 and Kyle Bush +900.

Johnson took the checkered flag in the Checker O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Raceway over the weekend, while championship rival Carl Edwards wound up in fourth.

That pushed Johnson's lead to 141 points over Edwards in the standings.

"We just have to go out and be aggressive and do what we've been doing," Edwards said. "If Jimmie potentially were to have some sort of trouble, we just have to be there to take advantage of it."

Kurt Busch, Jamie McMurray, Denny Hamlin, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Jeff Burton, and David Ragan made up the rest of the Top 10 at Phoenix.

Johnson just needs to finish in the top 35 in Ford 400 odds to clinch his third straight Cup title. Biffle is 203 points back of the leader in third place in the standings, while Burton is 269 points behind Johnson heading into the season finale.

"It's been a busy week and I'm just really eager to get in the car and get into what I do and what this team is about and what we like to do, which is drive that car and make it fast," Johnson said.

"I'm really excited about Homestead, and there's no need to do anything stupid," Johnson said. "But at the same time, how cool would it be to win out? I still think we can do that. I'd love to do that."

And that's what our goals are. If we get in the race, and I've got to drive at 110 percent to go for the win, there's no need to. But if we can go out there and win the race like we did [in Phoenix], let's do it."

Johnson started from the pole at Homestead-Miami last Sprint Cup Chase season, but it was Matt Kenseth who ended up visiting victory lane. Greg Biffle won the three previous races on that track, while Tony Stewart won back-to-back events there in 1999 and 2000.

In Ford 400 odds matchups, BetUS sportsbook has Greg Biffle -200 over Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin -165 over Jeff Gordon +135 and Kyle Bush -145 favored over Tony Stewart +115.
