Jason Campbell - Washington RedskinsESPN continues to have a lot of luck on Monday night football  this season and that should be the case again this week as the Washington Redskins (6-2) host the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) at 8:35pm EST.

Odds makers at SBGGlobal have the Redskins -2 point favorites at home in NFL odds against the Steelers with a total of 36.5 in Week 9 odds.

The Redskins have been one of the league’s surprises this year at 6-2 while the Steelers have looked solid at 5-2. The only losses for Pittsburgh came against the NFC East as they lost to Philadelphia in September and to the Giants last week.

The problem for the Steelers in both of those games was protecting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. He was sacked eight times by the Eagles and five times last week against New York.

Vegas odds at the Wynn sportsbook have the Redskins -2.5 point NFL betting favorites with a total of 36.5.

"The whole NFC East is (similar to the Eagles and Giants)," Roethlisberger said. "They're throwing a lot of blitzes at you. They're all big guys who can move around and throw different looks at you and try to confuse you. We've seen it twice so far and we'll see it again this week."

The Steelers have not played the Redskins at Washington in 20 years. Their visit on Monday may not be a pleasant one considering the Redskins have the sixth-ranked defense in the league. One of the reasons the defense has been solid is the offense.

The Redskins keep the ball away from opponents with a running game led by Clinton Portis who leads the NFL in rushing yardage. Quarterback Jason Campbell has also played well, ranking 5th in the league in quarterback rating. The Washington offense should be tested by a Pittsburgh defense that is third in the NFL in rushing yards allowed.

Pittsburgh has won the last three meetings against the Redskins but all of those games were in Pittsburgh. The last time the teams met in Washington was in 1988.
