NFC East TeamsCollege football began last week and this Thursday September 4th at 7:00pm EST on NBC the 2008 NFL betting season will kick off with the Redskins at Giants.

NFC East betting will be off the board when the Giants game starts so visit BetUS sportsbook for NFC East betting odds, NFC Championship odds and Super Bowl XLII NFL betting odds.

The NFC East is one of the toughest divisions on the NFL schedule simply because the Cowboys, Giants, Eagles and Redskins always produce a team that could play the spoiler role.

Last season is a prime example of how the New York Giants came out of the NFC East by beating the uprising Cowboys and then took the Super Bowl trophy away from the Patriots. The Washington Redskins were also in the NFC playoff mix by winning the wild card spot.

The Cowboys finished last season with a 13-3 record and will once again be favored in NFC East betting odds with the additions of linebacker Zach Thomas and corner Pacman Jones. Dallas had 13 Pro Bowlers last season and we expect them to produce the same talent this season. The question that needs to be answered though is whether that talent can overcome the Giants.

The Philadelphia Eagles will still be relying heavily on the arm of quarterback Donavan McNabb to get the Eagles into the end zone this season and have strengthened their defense with the addition of cornerback Asante Samuel from the Patriots. Although the Eagles have cheesesteaks and Rocky, we are not expecting them to match up with the rest of the NFC East despite the odds having the Eagles as runner up in NFC East.

Dallas Cowboys +275
New York Giants +800
Philadelphia Eagles +850
Washington Redskins +1500

The New York Football Giants are a prime example of how tough the NFC East is when they win a Super Bowl and the very next year, are not favored to win their division but not winning many games at home usually doesn’t produce Super Bowl repeats. We don’t expect the Giants to pull off the same magical performance for NFC East betting but will probably finish 9-7 behind the Cowboys and Redskins.

The Redskins will be an exciting team for betting NFC East odds and could plat the spoiler at +600 in NFL odds. Quarterback Jason Campbell should be ready to the lead the offense with a talent crew of draft picks in Devin Thomas, Malcom Kelly and tight end Fred Davis. It also doesn’t hurt to have defensive end Jason Taylor lurking on the defensive side of the ball. Daniel Snyder has put a lot of faith and money into rebuilding the Redskins; we think this is the year it pays off in NFC East betting odds.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will try and win their record sixth NFL title as they play the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl odds on Sunday at 6:25pm EST on NBC.

The Steelers definitely have the experience edge against the Cardinals who are playing in their first ever Super Bowl but one area that they don’t is at quarterback.
