Wisconsin Badgers StadiumThe 2008 Wisconsin Badgers have 17 starters returning and could easily challenge for the top of the Big 10 conference in 2008 and be a college football betting force.

There is one little side note with those 17 returning starters though as last year’s starting quarterback Tyler Donovan is gone.

Senior Allan Evridge is being counted on to replace Donovan and lead the Badgers to a Big 10 title. He should get a lot of help, especially from running back P.J. Hill who has 29 TD’s in just two seasons.

During the 2007 season, Wisconsin went 4-8 against the spread in college football odds and 6-6 in over/unders. The Badgers averaged 212.14 passing yards and 201.5 rushing yards per game while holding opponents to 210.17 passing yards and 139.8 rushing per game.

College football betting odds to win the 2008-2009 BCS National Championship at BetUS sportsbook have the Wisconsin Badgers +3000 and +300 in college football odds to win the Big 10 Conference.

College football odds for 2008-2009 regular season wins on Wisconsin at BetUS sportsbook have the Badgers at 8.5, -220 over and +160 under.

Vegas odds to win the 2009 BCS National Game have the Wisconsin Badgers at 30/1.

2008 Wisconsin Badgers Offense

It was thought that Evridge would be the starter at quarterback this season but redshirt junior Dustin Sherer is giving him quite a battle.

The Badgers are going to run the ball more often than not anyway considering the receivers are inexperienced. Tight end Travis Beckum is the best receiver on the team and a threat to impact college football betting odds.

Most of the offense is likely to come from P.J. Hill. He will combine with Zach Brown and freshman John Clay to give the Badgers a very good ground game. The offensive line returns four starters and they should open some nice holes this season for Hill.

2008 Wisconsin Badgers Defense

The defense returns a lot of talent this season that can impact college football odds including safety Shane Carter who led the Big 10 with seven interceptions last season. The Badgers did lose defensive end Matt Shaughnessy who broke his leg in the spring. College football betting experts see that the secondary is the strength of the team with Carter, Allen Langford and Aaron Henry. Jonathan Casillas also returns and he led the team with 96 tackles last season.

2008 Wisconsin Badgers Prediction

The Badgers have a 14-game home winning streak that will be put to the test this season as Ohio State visits in early October. The visit by Illinois will also not be easy in college football betting. Overall the schedule is pretty favorable for Wisconsin in terms of college football odds. The road games at Fresno State and Michigan are tough but winnable in college football betting. The key game in college football betting will be the home contest against Ohio State on October 4th.
