"I feel like I might start pressing a little bit and try to make a pitch better than I need to," Buchholz said. "I'm just not catching any breaks at all. The great players that play this game -- they make their breaks. That's the little challenge for me right now, to make a break. It feels like when I do make a pitch, it's right out of the reach of somebody. I don't know why it's been like that all year, it just feels like I've said it a lot now. I need to make a pitch and get a ground ball.” Buchholz has given up five home runs in his last four starts. Chicago is 57-26 in games in which they hit at least one home run. Buchholz is 0-4 with a 6.59 ERA since returning from Triple A. This is his first career start in MLB odds against the White Sox. SBGGlobal sportsbook is offering updated baseball betting odds on the 2008 World Series for the White Sox at +1200 and Red Sox +500. Floyd is 11-6 on the baseball betting season with a 3.66 ERA. He did not pitch well in his last start against Detroit, allowing five runs on eight hits in just over four innings of work. This will be Floyd’s first career start against Boston although he has worked against them in relief. He went 3 2/3 innings last season against Boston, allowing four earned runs, including two home runs. The White Sox do not have good memories of the last visit by Boston. It was last August when the Red Sox swept four games from Chicago at U.S. Cellular Field. "That was ugly," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said, "That was embarrassing. It was like kids playing against big leaguers. We looked bad. We had a real bad ballclub. We had real bad pitching, and they were the opposite." This year is different as the White Sox are having an excellent year and have a better record than Boston. "We are playing pretty good baseball and I will take my chances with them. They are going to throw their four best starters, but if we swing the bat and play like we are right now, I'll take my chances against anyone." Guillen said. |
