David Beckham and Landon DonovanThe Los Angeles Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes meet for the third and final time this season on Sunday at 3:00pm EST on Telefutura.

The Galaxy have won both of the previous meetings including a 3-0 win at San Jose. Early odds at SBGGlobal sportsbook have the Galaxy slight soccer betting favorites at +120 in money line odds with a -1/2 goal advantage.

The Galaxy are coming off one of their worst efforts of the soccer betting season, a 4-0 shutout loss against Dallas last Sunday while San Jose played New York to a 1-1 draw in their last match.

Los Angeles is tied for second place in the Western Conference with a 6-7-5 record. The Galaxy have not won in their last six soccer betting games overall, the fourth longest winless streak in team history. Their last win was actually at San Jose on June 14th. Since that time they are 0-3-3 and have been outscored 16-8.

The longest winless streak in their history is 10 games during the 2006 season. The soccer betting loss against Dallas was just the third time this season the Galaxy have been shutout. Following their previous two shutouts the Galaxy recovered nicely, winning both times.

San Jose is coming off a 1-1 draw against New York. The Earthquakes defense has been excellent recently, allowing one goal or fewer in six of the past seven matches, including three shutouts. The team has allowed only three goals in the past five games.

San Jose acquired midfielder/forward Arturo Alvarez from FC Dallas this week in exchange for allocation money and a first round pick in the 2009 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. In an effort to help their odds in soccer betting, they also traded forward Kei Kamara to Houston for allocation money and a first round pick in the 2009 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.

Galaxy at Earthquakes Soccer Betting Stats

The teams have met 40 times in their history during the regular season and the Galaxy hold a big edge although at San Jose the edge is small. In 20 meetings at San Jose, the Galaxy are 9-8 against the Earthquakes with three draws.

The last time the teams played at San Jose it was the Galaxy getting a 3-0 win in front of the largest non-doubleheader crowd in San Jose's history of almost 40,000.

Edson Buddle had the hat trick for Los Angeles. The Galaxy won 2-0 at home versus San Jose back in early April. The Earthquakes are 24-20-5 in August all-time in MLS play.
