Phil Mickelson and Kenny Perry favored in Golf Betting.Golf odds have Phil Mickelson and Kenny Perry favored this weekend. The catch is that they are playing in different tournaments.

Mickelson is the golf betting favorite for the Scottish Open while Perry is the golf betting favorite in the John Deere Classic.

The Scottish Open is a tuneup for the British Open next week. With Tiger Woods out of the picture for a while, Mickelson is the logical golf betting favorite.

The Scottish Open has a strong field this weekend as Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington, Adam Scott, Lee Westwood and Henrik Stenson are all part of the field.

Most of the top players in the world look at the Scottish Open as a good test before next week’s British Open. "Part of getting ready for next week is performing well this week, hitting shots sharply and crisply, being prepared for this week," said Mickelson.

Last year Mickelson lost in a playoff to Gregory Havret after bogeying the final hole in regulation and then the first playoff hole. "I'm hoping to improve on that," Mickelson added.

Kenny Perry is favored in golf odds on the PGA Tour this weekend. The John Deere Classic has a weak field since many of the top names are in Scotland. Even though the golf betting field is weak, expect a lot of birdies. Last year only two courses on the PGA Tour had more birdies on them.

Kenny Perry is the favorite in golf betting this week due to his strong play. He has already won twice on Tour this season. Perry finished 11th in the John Deere Classic last year. Perry will not be playing in next weekend’s British Open and has received criticism for that decision.

Perry will be playing the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee next week. “I committed to all these tournaments when I was ranked 100th in the world,” said Perry, “And now, all of a sudden, I've won twice. I'm not going to back out on them.''

The John Deere Classic is a good tournament for longshots in golf betting. Six of the last nine winners of the tournament were first-time winners.
