2008 USC Trojans Preview and ScheduleThe USC Trojans will begin the 2008 college football betting season ranked #1 by many publications and polls. The Trojans have as much or more talent than any other team in the country and are definitely National Championship contenders.

Head coach Pete Carroll continues to recruit the best players in the country and USC is loaded again for the 2008 college football schedule.

USC must replace six starters on offense including their starting quarterback but they are the one team in the country that can do it and be even better on the field.

Joe McKnight is a star running back and quarterback Mark Sanchez looks like the real deal. On defense they have a number of players that can impact the college football odds including linebackers Rey Maualuga and Brian Cushing.

Maualuga had 79 tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble and one interception last year. He is a candidate to win the Butkus Award this season. The secondary looks solid led by safeties Taylor Mays and Kevin Ellison.

Last year, the Southern California Trojans went 11-2 straight up and 8-5 against the spread in college football odds and 3-10 in over/unders. The Trojans averaged 232.6 passing yards and 185.8 rushing yards per game while allowing opponents 179.7 passing and 79.2 rushing yards per game.

Early college football odds to win the 2009 BCS National Championship at Bodog sportsbook have the USC Southern California Trojans as the BCS favorite at 7/2 and 2/7 in college football odds to win the Pacific 10 Conference.

Vegas odds to win the 2009 BCS National Game have the USC Southern California Trojans at 3/1.

Last year the Trojans won 11 games and the season was considered a major disappointment by most college football betting gamblers.

The loss to Stanford was one of the greatest upsets incollege football betting history. Overall, USC went 8-5 against the college football betting odds in 2007.

Usually when you think of USC you think of offense but that was not the case in 2007. They actually went under the total in 10 of their 13 games last season versus the college football betting number.

The 2008 USC college football betting schedule has some potential landmines on it. The game against Ohio State will be the one that everyone focuses on but they have to play a very talented Arizona State squad plus they always have trouble with California.

They also have Notre Dame and UCLA at the end of the season.

There is no question that the Trojans will be favored in college football odds in every game this season. Anything less than a BCS Championship will be thought of as a failure at USC.
