Kim Wins Att National - GettyLike a Hollywood movie star, 23-year-old Anthony Kim stepped up to the tee with confidence on Sunday in the AT&T National golf tournament decked out in an outfit complete with a bright pink polo and diamond-studded “AK” belt buckle.

Going into the final round, Kim sat three shots behind the lead but then ripped off consecutive birdies at the turn to close the tournament with a 5-under 65 and slice a two shot victory over Fredrik Jacobson at Congressional.

Jacobson seemed to be out of the mix early when a double bogey set him back but then refocused, nailed four straight birdies and looked to be in contention.

However trouble off the tee and landing in the bunker on the 18th, forced him to turn in a final day 65 at the AT&T National golf tournament. Kim on the other hand drained a 6-foot birdie on the par-3 seventh to reach 9 under and then hit a wedge within 8 feet of the cup to birdie No. 9 for the outright lead.

Kim extended his lead to four shots on the 16th with another brilliant wedge shot that spun back within 5 feet for the birdie.

Winning the AT&T National golf tournament puts Kim as the first American who is under 25-years-old to win two PGA tournaments in the same year since Tiger Woods. Kim also won the Wachovia Championship golf tournament earlier this year.

Woods was the National’s tournament host although he was not in attendance. Tiger is in Orlando, Florida recovering from season ending knee surgery.

"I would watch everything he did, every move he made, when I was growing up," Kim said about Woods. "So to win his tournament is a true honor. I'm very excited."

Kim turned in a final card of 12-under 268, will be taking home $1.08 million for the win, moves up to No. 6 in Ryder Cup standings and inches closer to breaking into the top 10 of golfers in the world.
