Cink was able to muster a 67 on the final day after shooting previous rounds of 66, 64 and 65 to finish 18 under but going into the final day with only a two-stroke over Heath Slocum, many questioned if Cink could actually close the tournament out. Cink fell apart in the fourth round of the PODS Championship back in March and many saw a great golfer that just couldn’t hold on. Cink has only had one tour victory in nine events where he held the lead going into the last day. "I know there has been some talk that I have not been a closer," Cink said. "They had every right to say that, because I felt the same way myself. So I felt that I had something to prove to myself." The win seems fitting that since Cink earned his first career victory here as a rookie, that he would shoot a career-best 262 over four rounds and again claim victory for the fifth time in his career on the same course. "To stand over that last putt, even though it was only 2 feet long, and to knock it in the middle, it was a great feeling," he said. Cink earned $1.08 million for his victory of the year; is projected to move to a career-high sixth in the world, moves to third place behind Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson in FedEx Cup standings, and moves to second place in Ryder Cup standings.
